What does your work do to you?

What does your work do to you?

Our lifestyle has been determined by several unknown brains that lived far before us. They also have made it hard upon us – work either 8 hours a day or nothing. You cannot just work for 5 hours a day and take a leave after everyday – it is against the universal law of working.

But do you realize the effects of these long forty hours in your life? You are now forced to build up you wonderful life in the evenings and nights. When you were a kid, you probably dreamed that you would write a lot, paint or even sing - just imagine - nothing of that is happening because of this work schedule. Even a small desire to build up your muscles needs lots of sacrifices to come true – exercise is the last thing that will pop out of your mind after returning from a day’s hard work.

The fact is that these suppressed and unfulfilled wants and desires just stay up inside you and build up. Once in a while, you do something to relive it – you shop things you don’t need, consume lots of alcohol, junk food, become emotional eaters. We gradually being to believe that happiness is not free and it should be purchased at a very high cost.

You also begin to spend more on anything that takes your mind off the pressure of doing something you don’t love. You don’t feel guilty if most of your expenses are made for entertainment or convenience – like beauty parlors. We always feel like something is missing, something keeps eating you from your inside – it is the voice of your heart to let its dreams out.
