How to maintain our enthusiasm.
"Enthusiasm is the electricity of life. How do you get it? You act enthusiastic until you make it a habit."
Whenever we start something new we feel enthusiastic, motivated and energetic but after some time we lose our enthusiasm and interest. If this is how you feel most of the time then it is imperative that you work at maintaining your enthusiasm for the job undertaken till it is done. How do you do that?
Though you understand the importance of what you are doing, you allow yourself to slack and get behind. This makes you feel that what you are doing is some kind of a burden.
Everything in life requires time effort and work. The intensity of effort depends on the task at hand.
Often, people start practicing concentration exercises, meditation, self-discipline exercises, or any other program relating to self improvement or spiritual growth, but if they don't see immediate results, they stop and give up.
What to do when interest and enthusiasm wanes?
Sometimes perseverance and hard work is not enough. Then what should you do?
The key to every self improvement program is for you to want to do it.
A few things that you can do to keep yourself motivated are:
Devote 10 minutes a day to reading and thinking about the benefits of what you want to do or accomplish.
Make it a point to read books that talk about people who achieved success by being tenacious and persistent.
Every day, find a quiet place, and for several minutes visualize yourself acting with enthusiasm and motivation.
Every success requires dedication, time, perseverance and tenacity. You should not give up at the slightest provocation.
Keep repeating affirmations that empower you and inflame your enthusiasm and motivation.
